his is 20mm thick oak wood flooring. This is a rustic grade floor. This means that you can expect knots over 30mm in diameter, flashes of colour, burrs and other character marks.
This floor has a Tongue and Groove joining system and is usually installed using the "Floating Floor" system, but it can also be glued down. We have two main recommendations when it comes to installing your wood floor. Always ask a professional floor fitter to install your floor and always make sure the sub-floor is smooth, level and sturdy. For more information and further guidance please contact ESB or see our FAQ article Installation of 14mm and 15mm Engineered Flooring.
This wooden floor has a UV Oiled finish. A UV Oiled finish is more practical than a Natural Oiled finish in that you do not need to apply another coat of oil once the floor is installed. A UV Oiled floor needs the same level of care and maintenance as a lacquered floor. ESB Flooring stock cleaning and maintenance products by Blanchon. UV Oiled floors are very easy to clean; simply vacuum or sweep and then mop with a special floor cleaner or eco-friendly floor cleaner. But make sure your mop is not too wet; it must be very slightly damp. For more information on cleaning this UV oiled wood floor please see our article "Cleaning and Maintenance for Natural and UV Oiled Floors".
